Darren M. Dahlman BSc. (Hon), DMD, FRCD(C), FCDS(BC)

Dr. Dahlman has spent a total of nine years of post-graduate education, and a total of 5 years of post-doctoral training to provide you with the most current surgical and anesthetic techniques. After a bachelors degree in Pharmacology & Therapeutics at UBC, he completed four years of dental school at UBC leading to his doctorate degree in Dental Medicine. A one year hospital medicine residency followed at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He completed a four year oral surgery residency at Alameda County Medical Center in Oakland, California before returning home to British Columbia to set up his private practice. He is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with a prestigous Fellowship in Oral Surgery from the Royal College of Dentist of Canada. He has been in private practice in Abbotsford, BC caring for patients in the Fraser Valley since graduation in 1997. He also attends a satellite practice in Williams Lake, BC to better serve patients in the interior section of BC.

Dr. Dahlman has also completed four years of post doctoral training in Dental Implants and recieved certification from Nobel Biocare / Branemark, one of the leading authorities in dental implants. He continues to keep updated with the newest advances in oral and maxillofacial surgery and is the provider of continuing education for dentists and dental assistants in BC. He lectures on such topics as medical emergencies, oral pathology, facial trauma and dental implants.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Dahlman is on staff at four hospitals including MSA General, Chilliwack General, Mission Memorial and Cariboo General hospitals where he treats patients with severe facial trauma. He is referred patients from other trauma centers such as Royal Columbian Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital for facial reconstruction surgeries. Dr. Dahlman is certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

He currently resides with his family in Abbotsford, BC and is involved in a number of local charities including BC Children's Hospital and Canuck Place.
